Maria Laslop

Owner; RAc, RTCMP, RN (non-practicing)

With almost 40 years experience as a health care professional and a broad knowledge base in both Western and Eastern medicines, Maria offers a unique approach toward health and healing for her patients. Maria believes that making healthy diet/lifestyle choices and engaging in healthy self-care practices are essential to achieve lasting vitality. She is passionate about educating and empowering her patients to become partners in their care.

Maria has a robust general practice, yet holds special interest and advanced education in the areas of gynecology, fertility enhancement, pregnancy/obstetrical care and pediatrics. She also holds advanced certification in German Auricular Acupuncture.

Maria is a Registered Acupuncturist, a Registered Chinese Herbalist, and a non-practicing Registered Nurse in the province of British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990 and a Master of Nursing in 1997. She subsequently went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Victoria, BC) with a four year Diploma of Chinese Medicine.

Andrea Baudic

RAc, RTCMP

Andrea is passionate about understanding the mechanics of motion and the physiology of the body. She is a careful and attentive listener, it is a skill that helps her understand her client's history and underlying causes that that may be contributing to their current condition. Her treatments are focused not only on symptom relief, but also on trying to reach the root cause of the symptom.

Andrea holds a Diploma in Traditional Chinese Medicine from the Canadian College of Oriental Medicine, where she studied both Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine. She graduated from the University of Manitoba with a Bachelor of Science Degree. She is also a professional level Yoga Teacher, and has studied kinesiology, Tai Chi, QiGong and practices meditation.

Andrea is excited to share her unique, holistic approach to health, and her positive experiences with oriental medicine.

Kristy Garry

RAc, RTCMP

Kristy is a Registered Acupuncturist and TCM Herbalist who has done extra training focusing on gentle Japanese styles of Acupuncture, now her main modality of treatment. She provides exceptional, individualized care with a focus on balancing the body.

Although she does have special interest in digestive disorders, fertility, pregnancy (being a mother of 2 herself) and general wellness, her main passion is creating and maintaining harmony in the body, no matter if there was an original ailment, or if the already healthy patient wants to be preventative.

Kristy’s many years of QiGong cultivation and study with her teacher Master ZhongXian Wu have given her additional insight into creating harmony within her own body, and those of her patients, but also with the environment around us. The body has its own internal landscape that can be tended with care for optimal health and wellness.

Shyama Jaswal

BA, RAc, RTCMP, DTCM (diploma)

Wtih over 14 years of experience as a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Herbalist, Shyama provides care to all family members, with special attention paid to women’s health concerns. She focuses on:

  • Light therapy patches

  • Anxiety and depression

Through practices of meditation, QiGong and mindfulness, Shyama offers a unique and compassionate approach to balancing the mind, body and spirit. She encourages her patients to take a proactive and preventative approach to their health and wellness by educating them about diet, lifestyle and self-care. She is committed to supporting them on their healing journey and helping them achieve an optimum quality of life.

Shyama completed her Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (five-year program) from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC. As part of her training, she completed an internship in Traditional Chinese Hospitals at both Cheng Du and Anhui universities in China. She also holds a BA in Anthropology and Art History from the University of Victoria.

Mareena Dufault

RAc, BScH

Mareena Dufault has been working in healthcare since 2007. She graduated magna cum laude from Pacific Rim College in 2015 and has since worked as a Registered Acupuncturist in Victoria and the Gulf Islands.

Since becoming a mother herself, Mareena has further developed her clinical expertise in the fields of women’s health including menstrual regulation, fertility optimization, pregnancy care, postpartum recovery including caesarean care, and paediatrics. Mareena is well-versed in family herbal remedies and holistic nutrition. She has extensive knowledge of assisted reproductive treatment, from IUI to IVF. She is available to provide post-partum home visits to support new mothers in the first two months after delivery.

Mareena is a Clinical Instructor at Pacific Rim College, where she teaches acupuncture students how to treat many complex complaints using a variety of techniques including detoxification cupping, moxibustion, lifestyle advice, and needling from Tung, TCM, and Five Elements traditions.

She also hosts public and private events combining community-style acupuncture and sound therapy.

Jacqui Paul

Foot Care Specialist; RAc, RTCMP

Jacqui specializes in unique holistic treatments that incorporate both foot care and acupuncture.

After graduating, she worked extensively for the four First Nations reserves on the Saanich Peninsula. During this time, she noted the frequent poor health of people's feet and nails, this inspired her to focus more intensely on treating feet. Jacqui completed the Nursing Foot Care course at the University of Vancouver Island in Nanaimo and has been practicing foot care since 2012.

Jacqui is a Registered Acupuncturist and a Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner. She graduated from the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Victoria, BC in 1998. She also spent three months studying in Guangzhou and Chengdu, China.

Sharon Fairchild

Registered Massage Therapist (RMT)

Sharon has spent three decades specializing in occupational stress-related conditions, sports injuries, post-operative rehabilitation and relaxation therapy; she has focused on developing her practice for women.

Sharon considers herself a traditional massage therapist; she uses Swedish massage techniques along with deep tissue sports massage skills to release deep-seated soft tissue conditions.

A former student of the University of Oregon, Sharon completed her formal education at the Canadian College of Massage & Hydrotherapy, located in Sutton, Ontario, Canada. She has been licensed as a medical health practitioner by the State of Oregon and the Province of British Columbia since 1984.
