Maria Laslop
Owner; RAc, RTCMP, RN (non-practicing)
With almost 40 years experience as a health care professional and a broad knowledge base in both Western and Eastern medicines, Maria offers a unique approach toward health and healing for her patients. Maria believes that making healthy diet/lifestyle choices and engaging in healthy self-care practices are essential to achieve lasting vitality. She is passionate about educating and empowering her patients to become partners in their care.
Maria has a robust general practice, yet holds special interest and advanced education in the areas of gynecology, fertility enhancement, pregnancy/obstetrical care and pediatrics. She also holds advanced certification in German Auricular Acupuncture.
Maria is a Registered Acupuncturist, a Registered Chinese Herbalist, and a non-practicing Registered Nurse in the province of British Columbia. She graduated from the University of Toronto with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 1990 and a Master of Nursing in 1997. She subsequently went on to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and graduated from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (Victoria, BC) with a four year Diploma of Chinese Medicine.

Jenny Abel
RAc, RTCMP
Voted “Best Acupuncturists” for 6 bears in a row (2019–2025) in Vancouver is Awesome’s Stars of Vancouver readers’ choice awards, Jenny has returned to Victoria, where she was born and raised. She now shares her time primarily between Salt Spring Island and Victoria.
Practicing in a gentle and intuitive way, Jenny’s priority is offering a space to help connect patients to their own innate healing power. She loves to empower patients with food cures, resources, and meditations. Her focus areas include: stress, anxiety, sleep/insomnia, support through life events, gynecology, hormone balancing, illness recovery, digestion, pain, and facial rejuvenation.
Now practicing for over 9 years, Jenny studied at the Tzu Chi International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine (formerly International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Vancouver), completed advanced training in Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture with Michelle Gellis (a leader in the field), and received extensive one-on-one TCM herbalism mentorship with Elaine Lee, RTCMP.p>
In addition to her professional training, Jenny also has more than 15 years of intensive, direct study with Mada Dalian (a modern Buddha, best-selling author, and internationally renowned master healer). Through this experience Jenny brings a deeper understanding of the importance of addressing mind, body, spirit, and consciousness to truly heal.

Shyama Jaswal
BA, RAc, RTCMP, DTCM (diploma)
Wtih over 14 years of experience as a Registered Acupuncturist and Traditional Chinese Herbalist, Shyama provides care to all family members, with special attention paid to women’s health concerns. She focuses on:

- Sleep solutions
- Menopause
- Mindfulness/wellness programs
- Light therapy patches
- Hormone balance
- Fertility
- Pain management
- Anxiety and depression
Through practices of meditation, QiGong and mindfulness, Shyama offers a unique and compassionate approach to balancing the mind, body and spirit. She encourages her patients to take a proactive and preventative approach to their health and wellness by educating them about diet, lifestyle and self-care. She is committed to supporting them on their healing journey and helping them achieve an optimum quality of life.
Shyama completed her Doctorate in Traditional Chinese Medicine (five-year program) from the Canadian College of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in Victoria, BC. As part of her training, she completed an internship in Traditional Chinese Hospitals at both Cheng Du and Anhui universities in China. She also holds a BA in Anthropology and Art History from the University of Victoria.

Jacqui Paul
RAc, RTCMP
Jacqui is a Registered Acupuncturist, Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner and herbalist. She graduated in 1998 from the College of TCM in Victoria, BC, with an additional three months studying in Guangzhou and Chengdu, China.
Jacqui has had a thriving general practice over the past 27 years. She has experience and advanced training in treating a wide range of health complaints, including musculoskeletal issues, internal medicine disorders and mental health issues.
Always committed to growing her knowledge base and advancing her skill set, Jacqui has added many specialty trainings to her work with patients, including Constitutional Facial Acupuncture Renewal and Nursing Foot Care.
Jacqui is also a certified Reiki Master and is certified in Craniosacral Therapy.
