We are open: a health and safety update

We are so excited to be open and to welcome you back for treatment!

During this time, our greatest priority is your health and safety, as well as that of our greater community. To ensure this, we have implemented a number of precautions and procedures.

Clinic operation

To prevent viral transmission and optimize physical distancing, our capacity has been reduced to allow adequate time for treatment room and common area sanitization.

Prior to your treatment, you must sign the COVID-19 Informed Consent to Treat & Liability Waiver; please bring your own pen.

Pre-screening

We are pre-screening all patients the day before their appointment, and again upon arrival, for risk factors that would prohibit clinic entry; these include:

  • Symptoms of COVID-19 infection (e.g., fever, runny nose, sore throat, new cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle aches, loss of sense of taste or smell)

  • Travel or contact with anyone who has traveled within the past 14 days

All late cancellation fees due to illness will be waived during this time.

Arrival

The reception area is closed; please wait either outside the clinic or, if you drive, in your car. Your practitioner will text/call/motion for you to enter the clinic when they are ready for you.

  • Wear a mask; if you don’t have your own mask, we will provide one.

  • Come alone; anyone accompanying you won’t be able to wait in the clinic.

  • Leave extra clothing and bags in your car if you drive; this lessens potential viral transmission.

  • Bring your own water or tea to hydrate during and after treatment.

Inside the clinic

Upon entering the clinic, use the available hand sanitizer immediately.

  • Employ standard infection prevention and control measures that keep us all safe:

    • Sneeze or cough into your sleeve/elbow.

    • Wash or sanitize your hands immediately after sneezing or blowing your nose; If the bathroom is not available, use the sanitizer available just inside the clinic door or in your treatment room (sanitizer is not necessary if you have properly washed your hands).

    • Refrain from touching your face unless you have just washed or sanitized your hands.

We are not reusing blankets between patients. We’ll do everything possible to ensure that you are warm and comfortable during your treatment. If you’re receiving a treatment for which you don’t need to fully undress, please wear loose, warm clothing that can be repositioned so we can easily access treatment areas.

After your treatment

  • To minimize person to person contact in the reception area, we’ll answer questions and provide post-treatment instructions while in the treatment room.

  • We have installed a plexiglass barrier as well as a contactless point of sale terminal at the reception desk; we are encouraging e-transfer payments.

  • Please book your next appointment online if possible.

If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to ask your practitioner.

We continue to closely monitor updates from BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC), the Provincial Health Officer, WorkSafeBC and specific health regulatory bodies. We will adjust our precautions and procedures as necessary.
